Sciatica

Inflammation and irritation of the sciatic nerve causes pain associated with sciatica. Two sciatic nerves extend from the base of the spine (lumbosacral region) down into each foot. These are the largest peripheral nerves in the body and are most often irritated by herniated vertebral disks and other spinal injuries.
Sufferers of sciatica often experience pain, weakness, and numbness in the lower back, legs and/or thighs. Thigh cramps, shooting pains down the legs, tingling in the legs and thighs or burning sensations in the lower extremities are all symptoms associated with sciatica. Sciatica typically affects adults between 30 and 50 but can also affect anybody, especially if sciatica is the result of spinal trauma.
In addition to regular stretching, resting, drug therapies and the application of cold packs effective pain management may also be experienced with regular MendMeShop Ultrasound treatments.
